Cross selling into other worlds

Postby Lasher Oh » Sun Jun 13, 2010 11:57 am

Kay I have been impressed with how Cariama has progressed and with your careful considered responses to feedback. Bit by bit the site is becoming a more user friendly environment and I hope that I can in future months assist in promoting the service to my groups in Second Life.

My next personal project is to start exploring some of the other grids, in particular Inworldz which I have identified as a serious grid where I intend to set up an outpost with a view to migrating now that Linden Labs have sunk into a downward spiral.

What's the procedure for selling over to other grids ? Is it as I think mainly requiring having a C box in the specific grid? And do we need to have a new listing for each grid we have an item available for or do buyers have an option to purchase for a specific grid via a drop down box in the single listing.

I have a feeling that a lot more merchants are going to be asking these and similar questions in the months to come.

I'm out of town for a week or so but I will drop you a more detailed IM when I return.

Cheers

Thank you Lasher ;)

I take great care of the different feedbacks customers give, it helps to improve Cariama. And I must admit that even on my side, I am not always happy with what I have implemented in terms of "friendly environment", some more changes will be made in the future to ease the system.

As you have well thought, since InWorldz is another grid, you will need to have a CBox in that world too: the grid cross-delivery is not possible (and I bet that LL will never accept it).

Concerning the listing of items, you list for each grid your different items available. It gives the opportunity for the seller to write specific descriptions depending the grid, to choose a different price (e.g. rebate in InWorldz), to attach the product to another store or collection ...
In order to ease the listing of an identical product in two different worlds, first you can list the product for the "Second Life" world (even import the listing from XStreet), and then do a "copy create" instead of a "copy new" and list for the "InWorldz" world.
Just one precaution, the name of the products should be different (I am looking if I can change that): I ve done for example "Baoule in 3RockGrid" and "Baoule in InWorldz".
When a customer look for products in a specific world, he can in the seach section of the marketplace, select the world.
