| News and New Features News: The CBoxes, CViewers and COnes of Second Life world and InWorldz have been reworked to fix minor bugs and take advantages of each grid. For InWorldz, the new stability of Phlox has enabled the resell option: you can now have affiliates selling your products with the CViewers and the COnes. For both worlds, the COne and the CViewers 1, 4, 6 and 10 items are now available. The other grids (SimWorld, 3rdRockGrid and UFS Grid) will be updated to version 1.60 by end of the month. The vending system will be proposed to Avination grid shortly too. We welcome this new grid and you can already find Terminals in different locations, two of them are even located at the Welcome Area! For Avination grid, you will be able to list your different products in a showcase, however sales are not permitted, this limitation was requested by the founders of the grid. *** Phlox in InWorldz *** No problems in Cariama's scripts were detected after the implementation of Phlox in InWorldz grid; the beta grid helped a lot to prevent any malfunctions of the different scripts. New Features: *** Showcase *** Currently for Avination grid, a new listing page was created: you list your products the same way you do for the other worlds, except informations concerning price and linked objects/textures/notecards in CBoxes are not given. *** Teleportation *** The teleportation option for products was added: if you have given the SURL indication in the item filling form, a new button is now proposed in the item page for a direct teleportation to the SURL location. | News and New Features News: *** Stores, Collections and Products *** What are stores and collections and why should you use them? Stores and collections help your customers and potential customers find your products quickly and easily, as well as help you to organize and list your products in the CViewers. The hierarchy within Cariama is as follows:
Examples of different hierarchy for your products, collections and stores: hierarchy for two grids -> store=Apparal in SL with two collections (=shoes,=shirts) -> store=Apparal in Inworldz with two collections (=shoes,=shirts) hierarchy gender -> store=Women Apparal with two collections (=shoes,=shirts) -> store=Men Apparal with two collections (=shoes,=shirts). You decide which organization of your products, collections and stores best fit your needs. You can add stores and collections in the CViewers (the inworld vending machines) listing, thus eliminating the need to list each product individually. *** New Layout at the Offices *** The layout of the Cariama offices were changed. Visitors will now find signs to assist with short explanations on how to register with Cariama as well as listing products. An Advantages of Cariama sign is also present. Have a look, your feedback is always welcome. *** New Title *** If you had recently visited the Cariama website, you may have noticed that the title has changed from the "No Commission on Sales" to "Free Web Vending System". There is still no commission on sales, this just helps make it clearer that there are no fees for listing on Cariama. Moreover, the introduction text proposed by Sarge Misfit below the new title is less confusing. *** Better Advertisement bidding *** Initially, the bidding system for advertisement was based on one currency, the L$ from SL. If you had avatars in other grids with different currencies, it was complicated to translate the L$ in other currencies when placing a bid. Now, the bidding system takes into account the different currencies used within Cariama and they are shown. | News and New Features News: The search section of the marketplace was improved: the search results given by selecting the 'item', 'collection' and 'store' buttons in the bottom right of the profile page, item page, collection page and store page were not always accurate. This was changed in order to give only products, collections and stores for the selected seller. Just a reminder to inform you that your CBoxes and CViewers will need to be updated to version V1.50 before the end of the month. You will get the new version at a CTerminal ('get package' button), the list of terminals is given here. Good news for InWorldz residents: the money withdrawal problem, when a sim crashed the permission to give money was lost, is now solved, the withdrawals are fully functional! I have also seen that the problem concerning payment to linked prims was solved by InWorldz team, you can now pay all the prims of the CTerminal. I also help with responding to tickets on Cariama. I found out about Cariama while looking for a web based marketplace for my products in InWorldz. Upon my first visit to Cariama I noticed it has no commission sales and multiple grid support. I decided to give it a try. I (of course) ended up having a few questions, and lots of suggestions, so I ventured forth, and submitted a ticket (or two heh). I was impressed by how quickly I got a reply, and how open Kay was to my suggestions. I saw how much potential Cariama has, and wanted to help out. I discussed with Kay how I could assist with tickets and general questions, and well, here I am! Recently I had some things come up that took my time away from the net, least of all which was connectivity issues. All which, thankfully, have been resolved. So now, I can resume offering assistance to Kay in whichever ways he deems necessary, which in turn means, I am here to help you. I can also resume listing my items on Cariama. I have found that the listing is pretty straight forward, very easy to use, and if you are a Second Life user, you can even import your listings from the MarketPlace. My favorite part of Cariama, would of course be the no commission sales, and coming in a close second, is the multiple grid support, without having to have the same name avatar in each grid." SLMarketplace Products importation working again |

| News and New Features News: Short news this week: it would be great to hit the 5000 listed active items by the end of the week; L$1000 for the one who lists the 5000th active item! New Features: Finally, Linden Lab has removed the internet link to XStreet for SLMarketplace (did you know that you can still have access to your old saved images). It took almost 2 weeks to modify the importation scripts, but now it is working, although certain image importations do not work (corrupted database when the transition was made by Linden Lab?). The importation process is relatively easy: in the sellweb page, you select the 'import' button in the right menu of items, then the avatar in Second Life for which you want to import the SLMarketplace listing. A list of your products will be displayed and you select those you want to import. Due to a very laggy SLMarketplace website, the list can be incomplete, to update it just press F5. Once you have selected your products to import, the process will propose to validate the different characteristics imported:
If you have already uploaded your objects/textures/notecards in the CBox, the importation process will also suggest the best links. That s all! | News and New Features News: For the past two weeks we have seen a real interest for InWorldz sales, which gave Cariama the opportunity to reach 100 sales. With the resolution of the object cross-sim bug in InWorldz, all the sales made via Cariama for this grid were successful, no delivery failures so far! Highlight of the week: the RSS feed in Cariama. Are your customers using all the tools Cariama is providing? In your item, collection, store and profile pages a RSS feed  at the top of the right menu is given and it can be used by your customers. By subscribing to the RSS feed, your customers will have the ability to know when you list new products. More information about RSS feeds can be found here. Personally, I am using Google Reader for my RSS feeds.Let your customers know when you list a new item! New Features: The rendering of images in Cariama website was improved: the complete process was reworked in order to 'faster' the process in the different pages of the website. With the change of image size limitation going from 65ko to 250ko, several pages of the website were slowed down and with an internet connexion of 1Mo/s, it could take 5-10 seconds to have all the images displayed. Cariama is now using thumbnail images for all the different listings. The next implementation in the near future will be the 'management' of the image with the delete option. | News and New Features News: A long time has elapsed since the latest newsletter of Cariama: we were all so busy for Chrismas and the New Year. Nevertheless, new improvements were implemented to the website and in the different grids. The TODO list, http://www.cariama.com/zeforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=117, is still long and will need time as more suggestions are added every week. The latest very good news from InWorldz is the fix of two bugs: the sim-cross delivery of objects (even when not logged in) and the inventory notification, http://inworldz.com/mantis/view.php?id=184. Now InWorldz proposes the same advantages than SL for commerce. Cariama is happy to inform that Rha Designs will help to respond to tickets. New Features: A major modification was made in the account page (thx to Rha for the suggestion): all 'transactions' can be found via the button in the right menu. The transaction page groups together the information concerning your sales and buys, your money movements (credits, withdrawals, transfers), and the raw data page (all your payments and receivables in one table). You may also have noticed different changes: a new tab 'terminals' in the top menu, and a 'main page' button in the right button which brings you to the root of your account. That will ease the navigation. Moreover, different tables were modified to have a better display. Do not forget to do a F5 to update your web browser so it will take the modifications. The Automatic Notification System (ANS) was added, http://www.cariama.com/zeforum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=114. The ANS will send notifications to URL (for all grids) or to inworld objects (only for SL).
